IMCD Group B.V. participated the Asia Coatings Congress 2011 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 18-19 May. The two day exhibition was well visited by local and international customers and suppliers and provided a premium forum for the coatings industry in Asia.
The conference took place in conjuction to the exhibition and offered unique platform in the region to exchange and establish new contacts and acquire new technical knowledge. Theme for the conference was “Enhancing sustainability in coatings“ and speakers came from industry, academia and paint associations.
IMCD also had the opportunity to present a paper in the conference. IMCD Coatings technical manager Dr. Sami Valkama gave a presentation about IMCD´s approach towards sustainable chemical distribution and which measures IMCD has taken to achieve the targets. During the presentation it was highlighted that IMCD has taken the reduction of CO2 emissions as one of top priorities and has committed to cut CO2 emission by at least 20% by 2012. It was also pointed out that IMCD Group B.V. is the first chemical distributor to be awarded with the prestigious Lean & Green award, which is a part oft he innovation programme Sustainable Logistics by Connekt..
In addition, during his presentation Dr. Valkama discussed about IMCD´s technical expertise and introduced the extensive network of technical centers and laboratories, which offer formulation services to customers and suppliers in order to develop environmental friendly formulations.
The exhibition and conference were well visited and offered IMCD a great opportunity to be present in this region.
