Since the opening of our first laboratory in the U.S. in 2018, we have continuously supported our customers and best-in-class principals. To better serve them, we upgraded our laboratory in 2023 and continue to add technologists and expand our capabilities allowing us to provide customized solutions and novel prototype concepts that align with their business needs. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, this laboratory serves the construction, decorative paints, industrial coatings, printing inks and adhesive markets for North America.

Ayaz Khan
Technical Director Americas - Coatings & Construction
Holds a BSc. in Applied Chemistry and Diploma in Coatings Technology. Prior to joining IMCD in 2017, Ayaz spent 14 years in the paint industry as a research chemist and 24 in the coating additive industry as technical services and applications manager. As an expert in decorative paints, coatings formulation and rheology he develops innovative projects in close cooperation with customers and principal suppliers.
Andrew Sibley
Laboratory Manager – Coatings & Construction, North America
Holds a BSc. in Chemistry and Nanotechnology. Andrew joined IMCD in 2019, bringing 10 years of experience as a chemist formulating industrial coatings and UV curable coatings for several global paint companies.
Colin Scull
Chemist - Coatings & Construction NA
Holds a BSEd. Chemistry. Colin joined IMCD in 2021 after spending 8 years teaching chemistry and other physical and biological sciences; as well as 3 years in corrosion testing for infrastructure including reinforced concrete structures and post-tensioned bridges.
