Regulated Synthesis
Greener Reactions
In this seminar, we present alternatives to some of the potentially toxic or environmentally harmful reactions commonly used in chemical synthesis today.
About the Greener Reactions seminar
The next step in our sustainability journey is the Greener Reactions Seminar. We look at not only how solvent selection plays an important role in achieving a more sustainable process, but also how reagent choice is an important factor. Our experts will discuss the greener solvents and greener reagents that are trending in popular fields of chemistry including amidation and catalysis.
Join us to explore the possibilities, limitations, and challenges of greener reactions and alternatives in chemical synthesis.

principles of green chemistry
Paul Anastas proposes new solvents that can replace traditional solvents that have health or environmental concerns. Find out more on the following green chemistry principles:
1. Energy Efficient Reactions
Where energy requirements should be recognized for their environmental and economic impacts and should be minimized. Synthetic methods should be conducted at ambient temperature and pressure.2. Reduced Hazards
Wherever practicable, synthetic methods should be designed to use and generate substances that possess little or no toxicity to human health and the environment.
3. Reduced Toxicity
The use of auxiliary substances (e.g., solvents, separation agents, etc.) should be made unnecessary wherever possible and, innocuous when used.
