Cetyl alcohol
Cetyl alcohol is a mixture of solid aliphatic alcohols comprising mainly of a 16 carbon straight chain alcohol. In lotions, creams, and ointments, it acts as a consistency modifier or bodying agent. It also acts as a weak water-in-oil emulsifier and can be part of a mixed emulsifier system.
