Cellulose, 2- hydroxypropyl methyl ether Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC)
Hypromellose (HPMC) is widely used in pharmaceuticals formulations. It is described as partly O-methylated and O-(2-hydroxypropylated) cellulose. Hypromellose is available in several grades that can vary in viscosity and extent of substitution. In oral solid forms like tablets, HPMC is primarily used as a binder.
