Micafungin
Micafungin sodium is a semisynthetic cyclic lipo-hexapeptide (echinocandin) synthesized by a chemical modification of a fermentation product of Coleophoma empetri. Micafungin inhibits the synthesis of 1,3-beta-D-glucan, an integral component of the fungal cell wall. It is used for the treatment and prevention of candidiasis.
