Wetting agent
Dissolution of the dry powder in hard gel capsules requires the displacement of the air surrounding the powder. To enable this displacement, a wetting agent is added, which reduces interfacial tension between API and dissolution medium, thus accelerating the dissolution of the particles. A wetting would reduce the contact angle leading to wetting and spreading of liquid over the particle
