IMCD appoints new Managing Director in Malaysia
IMCD, a leading distributor of speciality chemicals and ingredients, today announces the appointment of Serene Cheng as Managing Director of IMCD Malaysia, effective October 1st, 2022. With over 20 years of experience in commercial and leadership roles, Serene will continue to pursue the overarching strategy for Malaysia.
In her new role, Serene will lead strategic growth ambitions by expanding new and existing suppliers, driving commercial excellence, exploring opportunities for M&As, developing talents, and further advancing the business's digitalisation. In addition, she continues her current role as the APAC Director of Business Group Advanced Materials. She will be based in Singapore and frequently travel to Malaysia.

Serene is a Singaporean with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. She has over 20 years of experience in sales, business development, and business leadership in local and international environments. She joined Teknor Apex Asia Pacific in 2010 and progressed to Asia Pacific Business Director, in which she was instrumental in driving significant growth in the Thermoplastics Elastomer business division in Asia. Before that, she worked for various local and international companies, including GE Plastics, 3M, and Omni-Plus System.
IMCD Malaysia has an established presence in adhesives, specialty compounds, advanced composites, coatings, latex, oleo chemicals, petrochemicals, food & nutrition, pharmaceuticals, home care, and beauty & personal care. There are four technical facilities serving beauty and personal care, food and nutrition, coatings, and construction markets.
