Rising Leaders: Kelly Bruski about leading with a global mindset and a One IMCD vision

Kelly Bruski has been part of IMCD since 2016. In July 2025, she was promoted to Director for Advanced Materials in the US, advancing from her previous position as Sales Manager for Beauty & Personal Care. In her new role, Kelly brings deep market insight and a customer-focused approach to driving growth in IMCD’s Advanced Materials portfolio. She reflects on her experience being part of the Rising Leaders programme.

Q1 | What stands out most when you think back on your Rising Leaders experience?

The global connections. Meeting peers and leaders from across the globe was very impactful. It helped me understand the business from different angles and really feel the “One IMCD” vibe. You could sense how much stronger we are when we join forces to follow our vision to remain the best-in-class distributor we are.

Q2 | Which leadership skill did you focus on developing, and how did the programme help you do that?

Strategic thinking. My coach pushed me to go deeper into the why behind my decisions and to connect my ideas to concrete business outcomes. Those coaching sessions helped me think more deliberately about the impact of my choices and the results I want to drive.

Q3 | Stepping into the Advanced Materials Director role, where do you see the biggest opportunity to make an impact? 

Building on the strong team we already have, and cross-fertilising Business Groups with market trends and best practices that can benefit all. There is a real opportunity to raise our commercial excellence, be more present, in person, with customers and strengthen our identity as the go-to partner for Advanced Materials in the US, so we are the first name customers think of when they need solutions.

Q4 | If you had to describe Rising Leaders to someone in one sentence, what would you say?

Rising Leaders is a programme that provided me with intentional development, focused hands-on opportunity to build on skills, and personal mentorship that is impactful, helping me to grow with purpose and lead with confidence.
